Did you know that Angra Mainyu translates to 'destructive spirit' and it's meant to represent the devil?

You'd definitely believe it if you've ever went toe-to-toe with this superboss.

Found in the Bikanel Desert during Chapter 5 of Final Fantasy X-2, Angry Mainyu is an ancient fiend that was sealed away by a Cactaur tribe. It's not very happy about this, and wants very much to kill your party as a result.

Angra Mainyu is a boss of three parts; you have the main body, then Zarich and Tawrich, two pillar-like additions to the boss, will wail on you with status effect attacks and abilities which reduce your stats and damage your MP pool.

He doesn't have the largest HP pool of superbosses in the series - around 330,000 HP - but his devastating attacks such as Pedition's Flame really hit hard. This attack is non-elemental, meaning it's very difficult to guard against.

You can actually encounter Angra Mainyu earlier in the game too. It's an impossible fight though - the fiend will simply eject your party members one by one from the battle.
