Final Fantasy XV: 12 Hands-On First Impressions

1. The Dialogue Will Make You Cringe

It's a Final Fantasy game, after all, so this shouldn't be unexpected, but yes, there's a lot of bad writing in this game, and while this sometimes results in some unintentional laughs, it's also often straight-up painful to observe.

The abundance of puns and Prompto's frequent singing and screaming about chocobos is enough to make you want to plug your ears up with gauze on occasion.

Though the newer FF games are definitely put at a disadvantage due to having fully voice-acted dialogue (the written word never seems as bad), there's still a lot of ropey chit-hat that's just painfully lacking in self-awareness.
