Hitman Reviews: 10 Early Reactions You Need To Know

2. Load Times Are Notably Bad

"When it comes to the Paris level the loading times are lengthy in all contexts, whether you€™re loading it for the first time or simply starting from a recent save after being killed or messing up. You can save at will but it becomes deeply frustrating the more you attempt to prod the game€™s simulation and experiment with outcomes, knowing messing up will trigger another long loading screen." - IGN"Load times are frustratingly long, lasting just under a full minute when reloading saves. This alone is especially disappointing, given how fun it can be to iterate on your methods by reloading saves and experimenting, a process that's tainted by extended downtime." - Gamespot Not since Bloodborne have we seen a game so predicated on having you replay a given sequence multiple times, only for the base game itself to hang for minutes at a time loading you back in. Hitman's performance appears to be fairly uniformly strong, but the PS4 version is sticking out as having some bad issues. It's a real shame too, because the basic gameplay of Hitman - especially when it's showcased in such a concentrated, "Oh, I'll just try this and see what happens" kinda way - relies entirely on being able to reset your position instantly. The thought of approaching a given assassination from a thousand different angles is an immortally enticing one, and hopefully we'll get to a point where everything streams in effortlessly at some point in the future.
