Hitman Reviews: 10 Early Reactions You Need To Know

6. The Disguise System Is Fixed From Absolution

"Disguising yourself as a revered male model with an uncanny resemblance to 47 (make up and all) will allow you to access virtually every area of the building without being searched and secure a private meeting with one of the marks. The ability to truly hide in plain sight is a considerable part of what makes this new game feel like a classic Hitman game again, even if a lot of the fun still relies on the naïve AI being easy to exploit." - IGN As was the case in the beta and has been carried through to the full version, you can now don a disguise that won't lead to you getting rumbled from across the room. In Absolution, each disguise was a specific 'type' (say builder, executive, security etc.), the assumption being that any given social group would be able to recognise one of their own - after all, if your best mate suddenly lost all their hair and sprouted a barcode neck tattoo, you'd probably have something to say. In practice though, there was no discernible range to their vision. NPCs could detect you from great distances, scuppering your chances of walking through any crowded areas. Now that ideology has been carried across, but only specific individuals within these 'sets' of costumes have the power to deduct who's who - say managers of cleaning staff or lieutenants of the police force, for example. They'll be marked out in your 'Instinct Vision' (which can be turned off if you're getting sick of 'special vision modes' telegraphing everything) denoting who to steer clear of and who you're safe standing next to.
