Madden 21: 10 Things We Already Know

1. Players Should Dampen Expectations

EA Sports didn't develop the bulk of Madden 21 in-studio due to the ongoing pandemic. It's also one of those annual release sports games thing, and that means changes were likely be minimal anyway. Going in, nobody should expect 21 to be some sweeping or revolutionary improvement on Madden 20.

That's just not gonna' happen.

There are worries in some circles that EA are already focusing efforts beyond 21 too. PS5 and Xbox Series X ports say the future of gaming is now and, as one of the biggest dev-teams in the industry, they can't afford to sit around and twiddle their thumbs whilst others forge ahead. That only makes the 'Dual Entitlement' promise even more meaningful.

If you're waiting on that next evolutionary leap in the franchise, and expecting it to be Madden 21, then dampen those expectations now. Madden 21 will be fun and improvements are there, but it's not going to reinvent the wheel for football games.
