Mass Effect Andromeda: Everything We Know So Far
1. Exploration, Jetpacks & Resource Management Is The Aim Of The Game
Even the very first footage of ME:A showed a character leaping about a dusty planet with a powerful jetpack, and this was later confirmed to be a major feature, both from some leaked gameplay of an older build (seen below), and the E3 2016 footage.
Furthermore - and again, taken from the leaked survey - the overall story for Andromeda centres around 'humanity finding a way', so you'll have to build and maintain a variety of settlements, forge alliances with a number of aliens and creatures, gather resources and craft - pretty much everything you'd expect from a modern, open-world RPG.
There will be a large, overarching story, but this is a galaxy made to be explored, with characters you'll build bonds with, and a Mako, armour, ship combo you'll customise as you go. Think No Man's Sky's breadth and diversity of worlds with Mass Effect's combat model and Fallout 4's 'every material matters' crafting system.
Depending on how much is changing behind closed doors, that's what we're in for. Here's to November when Bioware should finally show something truly substantial.
