Super Mario Galaxy 2 is another visually-breathtaking adventure that pushed the capabilities of the Nintendo Wii to never before seen extremes. Released just three years after the original, the Galaxy 2 largely sticks to the same formula as what had worked before, whilst throwing a couple of new features as well.

One of these features is the Cloud Flower and power ups, first found in the Fluffy Buff Galaxy. This flower turns the player into Cloud Mario, suited up in a new outfit and with the added feature of being able to spawn in up to three helpful clouds through the game's motion controls.

Not only does the theme of clouds fit into the world of Galaxy better than most and create a variety of challenges, but it helps to create some of the most intense platforming in the franchise to date.

The clouds work well in both the 2D and 3D parts of the game, a feature that would be a welcome return if Nintendo continue to push out the 3D World and Land games. Cloud power ups also arguably best make use of the game's motion control features, a trait that was revolutionary for the scene back in the day.
