WWE 2K22: 10 New Things You Need To Know About

1. Weightier Bumps & Moves

Here's something that may shock you.

2K have been shouting at anyone who'll listen about their refined gameplay engine. They've had longer than ever to work on it, and they're clearly proud of what they've come up with. The latest trailer is rather promising in this respect, not least because every bump has a satisfying weight to it.

Seth Rollins and The Miz tumble off a ladder onto the Raw ring canvas in one memorable sequence. Unlike 2K20, when bumps seemed a little...floaty, 2K22's characters land on a solid surface and twist their faces into agonised expressions whilst selling. It's all very dramatic, as it should be.

There's more weight behind punches and kicks too. Each one hits harder, which may be down to the new mo-capping and animations that 2K have been working on with select members of the WWE roster. Everyone's in for a treat if the trailer's crunching bumps become the new series norm.
