WWE 2K24 Review: 9 Ups & 4 Downs

2. Another Showcase Issue Worth Mentioning

There's been a lot of talk pre-launch about the '40 Years Of WrestleMania' Showcase "only" featuring 21 matches matches from select versions of the famous event. 21 doesn't appear to be enough for some folks, but it's important to remember the amount of work that goes into crafting even one of these things.

Even so, a few of the match picks will bug some fans.

Iconic battles like Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat, Steve Austin vs. The Rock and Hulk Hogan vs. Andre sit rather awkwardly next to matches like Bianca Belair vs. Asuka, put it that way. That match sticks out as much weaker than some of the others. Maybe that's just because it happened recently.

Obviously, 2K had to be selective and politically savvy, but it doesn't sit right that a match like Belair vs. Asuka is here and Daniel Bryan's amazing title win at WrestleMania XXX isn't. He's in AEW now, sure, but 2K24's Showcase feels less exhaustive for excluding some bigger 'Mania memories.
