15 More Horror Movie Endings That Get Worse The More You Think About It

10. Hannibal - The World's Most Dangerous Serial Killer At Large

There were two more Hannibal Lecter films after 2001's highly anticipated and then hugely disappointing Silence of the Lambs sequel Hannibal, but both were prequels. As such, the final end for Anthony Hopkins' version of the character is him on the run once again, having escaped from the clutches of the FBI and the vengeful attack from Mason Verger (Gary Oldman), a victim of his.

Hannibal Lecter might be more polite and less sadistic than many serial killers but nonetheless, as it should go without saying, this man being on the run is a terrifying prospect. He's an undeniable genius who could've eluded capture for the rest of his life if he so-desired, and he'd have no doubt slaughtered many more people. If anything, a second escape from the United States might've made him bolder than ever before.

He's last seen feeding a little boy on a plane, with the boy being tragically unaware that what he's eating is actually a piece of someone's brain. Lecter remarks to the boy that "it is important... to always try new things." Well, that's Lecter for you.
