Even if other sports don't have rivalries as heated as they used to be, football still has plenty of them. North London is home to annual clashes between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, both of the Premier League. Centre back Sol Campbell was one of the few to play on both sides of the coin, and his switch became headline news more than a decade ago.

Campbell started his professional career with Tottenham back in 1992, and would end up making more than 250 appearances for the club. Frustrated with not being able to get the ball past him to score, Arsenal thought it would be easier just to sign him away from their rivals. In 2001, they did just that.

It wasn't a big money transaction to acquire Campbell, either, as he became a Gunner on a free transfer. Campbell has said that Tottenham supporters still haven't forgiven him for making the switch. "People who were perhaps five (years old) at the time I went to Arsenal, or were not even born, feel strongly about it," Campbell said. "Some of the fans have moved on, but they have not totally forgotten. If I was coaching in America for 20 years, maybe they would."
