10 Best Football TV Ads Of All Time

9. Write the Future

WriteFuture Directed by Mexican filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu, Nike€™s €œWrite the Future€ campaign saw some of the world€™s top players each perform a scenario that has a significant ripple effect outside of the world of football. As a lead up to the 2010 World Cup, we see a misplaced Rooney pass evolve into an economic crash that leaves the England striker living in a caravan, overlooked by a billboard featuring a triumphant Franck Ribéry. But with one storming run and a goal-saving tackle, Rooney is transformed into the nation€™s hero and a knight of the realm. Similar events are played out by superstars such as Drogba, Ronaldo, Cannavaro and Ronaldinho, each player conjuring up images of how the world would change should they score, or save, that vital goal. As well as having a great, imaginative concept, this advert would also be widely remembered for cursing each of the main players to feature in the advert. Ribery€™s France were sent home amid a scandal within the team, Cannavaro€™s Italy and Drogba€™s Ivory Coast failed to make it out of the group stages, whilst both Rooney and Ronaldo were said to have underperformed and were sent home after the first knockout round. However, all fared slightly better than poor old Ronaldinho, who was left to watch the games at home after not being selected for the Brazil squad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSggaxXUS8k

My favourite films are The Big Lebowski closely followed by Jurassic Park. That should tell you everything you need to know about me.
