John Madden's man-crush was always gonna make this list. Favre was a force to be reckoned with - a devoted player, loved by fans and peers alike, determined to be the best in all aspects of his role.

And while he was maybe a little too attached to the league (2 retirements, a hell of a lot of tears) and while he's maybe not the greatest guy in the world (The Jenn Sterger Sexting / Digital Exposure Incident), you can't deny the numbers he put on the board:

321 consecutive starts (including playoffs), 71,838 career yards (almost 599 regulation football fields, end to end), most completions, most pass attempts, most wins: The guy was a machine.
