The 2003 introduction of a yellow card for removing one’s shirt may seem a bit joyless and puritanical, but there are arguments for dissuading footballers from this particular celebration. It can end up taking a while to reapply the shirt, and causes consternation for some oversea sales.

It also means that players are required to save the bare chested celebrations for only the most special of occasions - and it doesn’t get much more special than winning your club’s first top flight championship since 1968, especially if you do so on goal difference, against your fiercest rivals, in stoppage time.

Aguero’s winner against QPR is best remembered for Martin Tyler’s histrionics on commentary, but the celebration is something to behold, too. The Man City talisman is one of the premier league’s most dependable, ice cold finishers, but he loses control of himself here, as well he might.

The moment the ball crosses the line, the sky blue shirt is off and spinning round the Argentine’s head as he races across the exploding Etihad. Whatever you think of the club, it’s a scene of pure jubilation from a truly extraordinary footballing moment.
