Chelsea allowing Kevin De Bruyne to go to Wolfsburg for a fee of £18million looked a headscratcher at the time, and after his progression in the years since, it looks like a criminal mistake now.

After dishing out 16 goals and 27 assists for the German outfit in the 2014/15 season, he earned worldwide acclaim as well as the German Player of the Year award. His truly break-out year earned him a move to moneybags Manchester City for an eye-watering £55million, a club record even for them.

KDB, as he has affectionately become known, oozes class. Capable of scoring and having a sublime eye for a pass, he's integral to making City tick. Just recently he was incredibly impressive in a half of total dominance against Manchester United at Old Trafford, helping City pass them off the park and providing a goal and an assist for his team.

Already considered one of the very best, De Bruyne has a lot of improvement left in him at 25. There's no reason to think that he can't one day stake a claim to a Ballon D'or award and even help his team win the elusive Champions League.
