10 Best Super Bowl Plays Ever

2. Super Bowl 43: Santonio Holmes' Toe-Tapping Game Winner

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZHjeqTmd1A It's safe to say that everyone likes an underdog. There's something deep down inside all of us that likes seeing whoever is on top being taken down a peg and going into Super Bowl 43 the Arizona Cardinals were most certainly the underdog. Their's was a franchise of futility, with just four playoff appearances in the Super Bowl era and their only playoff win coming ten years ago. They were facing one of the NFL's most prolific franchises in the Pittsburgh Steelers and at the start of the fourth quarter, the Steelers lead 20-7. The Steelers already pulled off a miraculous play in the form of linebacker James Harrison's one hundred-yard interception return to close the first half. It's one hell of a play, but in the interest of variety, did not make this list only because the Steeler's offence gave us something even better. Somehow, someway, the Cardinals made it all the way back to take a 23-20 lead with little over two minutes left in the game. Pittsburgh sputtered and briefly stalled before wide receiver Santonio Holmes converted a first down. A few plays later a forty yard pass, again to Holmes, took Pittsburgh to the Arizona six-yard line with forty three seconds left. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger points out Holmes again and rifles a pass that is caught by the slimmest of margins possible. Just watch the video. When Holmes just tucks his toes into the endzone he's moments from getting leveled by Cardinal's safety Aaron Francisco. As the officials review the play we catch a heart-breaking look at Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who had single handedly brought the Cardinals back from the brink, shaking his head in disbelief. It was a tremendous catch that secured Pittsburgh's sixth championship, but it wasn't quite enough to land the top spot on this list.
