10 Best Super Bowls Of All Time

7. New England Patriots 32 Carolina Panthers 29 (Super Bowl XXXVIII)

The Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas was the destination of perhaps one of the strangest Super Bowls of all time. Tom Brady, in his second appearance in the big one led the New England Patriots to victory over Jake Delhomme's Carolina Panthers. The remarkable statistic about this one is that there was no scoring in the first and third quarters but set a Super Bowl record in the fourth for the most points scored in a quarter with 37. The second quarter saw 24 points put up by the teams collectively as New England hit two touchdowns, firstly from Deion Branch with three minutes to go till half time then David Givens with just 0:18 seconds left before the half. Carolina got a touchdown of their own with 1:07 left in the half through Steve Smith and the quarter was rounded off with a successful 50 yard field goal kick from John Kasey at the last second. So the craziest quarter of football began when Antowain Smith ran it in for a Patriots touchdown just 0:11 seconds after the end of the third quarter. Carolina scored two touchdowns in a row through DeShaun Foster and Muhsin Muhammad respectively, both scores had two point converstions attempted but both failed making the score 22-21 to Carolina. The Patriots scored with just under three minutes left following a one yard pass to Mike Vrabel before the Panthers responded with a touchdown from Ricky Proehl with just 1:08 left in the game and the scores tied at 29. The most exciting quarter in Super Bowl history was finished when the Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri kicked a field goal from 41 yards to make it 32-29 to the Patriots and give them the win. Perhaps not the most eventful game of football ever played but one of the most remarkable quarters of football and the Patriot's second ever Super Bowl Championship.
