10 Biggest Losers From Premier League Opening Weekend

10. Simon Hooper

At least in the eyes of Norwich City fans, Simon Hooper is public enemy number one right now. Back in the Premier League, The Canaries were hoping to start things off with a bang at home to Crystal Palace. Unfortunately, not only did Alan Pardew have Palace purring, the referee didn't help Norwich either. With 75 minutes on the clock, Cameron Jerome lashed in from close range. Reeling away to celebrate with the home fans after apparently making it 2-2, the Norwich striker looked utterly stunned to see Hooper hosting a mini-conference with several of his team mates just inside the box. According to the referee, Jerome's boot had been dangerously high, and thus the goal was ruled out. Palace seemed buoyed by the decision, and added a third goal in injury time. The game ended 3-1, but could have been different had Jerome's strike been allowed. Officiating his first Premier League match, Simon Hooper robbed the fans of seeing an exciting finale. On closer inspection, Jerome's boot was nowhere near the head of any Palace defenders, making the ref's call a poor one.
