It’s not that Arsenal’s Nicolas Pépé didn’t have his moments in Fantasy Football this year.

A 17 point haul at home to Newcastle in Gameweek 26 and 12 points against West Ham in Gameweek 16 were two such examples where Pépé showed what he was capable of, but these were his only two double digit hauls of the season.

Pépé may well go on to become a great Fantasy Football asset, but his first season in the game won’t live long in the memory.

Signed from French side Lille for a club record £72m in the summer, the Ivory Coast winger arrived at the Emirates Stadium off the back of an incredible season in Ligue 1 during which he scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists.

Priced at £9.5m, he looked to be an exciting FPL asset capable of delivering some explosive returns.

Pépé didn’t have a terrible season, but some of his best performances were in European and domestic cup matches, which is no good for FPL managers.

In the Premier League he only managed one goal in the first 10 Gameweeks.

Pépé finished the season with 106 FPL points including five goals and six assists. Not awful, but a lot more was hoped for.
