10 Chael Sonnen Controversies We Won't Forget

3. Insults Against Brazil And Its Fighters

Anderson Silva wasn't Chael's only Brazilian target. Just weeks ago, he claimed he was expecting to fight Anthony Johnson as Lil Nog would probably get injured training for their upcoming fight. Back in 2012, he had this to say about the MMA obsessed nation: "Your women are all okay with me, so feel free to give me a call or pay me a visit. But as far as my impression, it's a lot like America. When I was a little kid, I'd go outside with my friends and we'd talk about the latest technology, in medicine, gaming and American ingenuity - and Anderson and the Brazilian kids are sitting outside playing in the mud." His taunting of Brazil was so bad that the UFC had legitimate fears for his safety should he ever fight there. On Wanderlei Silva, another Brazilian legend, he had this to say in a post-fight interview: €œWanderlei Silva, six feet tall and 205 pounds, boy, until I met you, I didn't know they could stack crap that high." Silva would lose his cool, and wind up coaching against Sonnen in TUF Brazil, which went nothing like anyone expected.
