6. Cruz vs. Faber 3
Yes. we've seen them fight twice before, but there is always something special about trilogy fights. Urijah Faber and Dominick Cruz have one fight apiece over the other in their career, and the rubber match was expected to come in 2012 at the culmination of their stint as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter: Live. The fight at the finale, however, would be scrapped, as Cruz went down to injury. Here's where it really goes downhill: Cruz is yet to return to the ring. He is scheduled to face Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 178, but do any of us really believe he'll make it there? During his time away from the octagon, an interim bantamweight champ was crowned (Renan Barao) then upgraded to full champion when Cruz was stripped of the title due to his long layoff. Barao then lost the belt to T.J. Dillashaw in May 2014. Cruz hasn't set foot in the octagon since he beat Mighty Mouse Johnson in October, 2011 to defend his bantamweight title. Johnson then dropped to flyweight, won the belt in that weight class, and has defended the belt four times! Cruz vs. Faber 3 could still happen some day, but don't hold your breath. White hasn't mentioned it in ages, and it no longer holds the interest with the fans that it once did. Faber is still a beast, but Cruz has become a punchline for injury jokes. If he turns it around this year, however, that could change.
