During discussions of this entry, many completely forgot that Xavi continued played after leaving Barcelona at the end of the 2014/15 season.

After hanging up his playing boots at the end of the 2018/19 season, he was quick to enter a managerial role at Al Sadd. From the outside, this may seem like an odd move. What is Barcelona and Spain legend Xavi doing managing a Qatari club?

Well, the fact of the matter is that he played 90 games for Al-Sadd spanning four years.

This was certainly a forgettable period in Xavi's illustrious career, so how about we focus on his career with the Catalan giants instead?

Xavi dazzled and dominated the footballing world alongside his midfield partners Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets. He was a key member of a Barcelona and Spain set-up that would go on to earn him a staggering 30 league and cup wins.

Having come from the fabled La Masia academy, he enjoyed a run in the Barcelona team from 1998 to 2015, contributing 270 goals and assists in this period.

Should his managerial ventures with Al-Sadd prove successful, it is more than likely that we will see him assuming the same role at Barcelona soon.
