Julian Draxler has participated in over 40 games for French giants PSG so far this season. On paper, that sounds great, but when you take a closer look at the statistics, you see that he really hasn’t spent that much time on the pitch after all, being subbed on and off over and over again, as well as being moved around and played in various positions as needed.

Without the big injury to Neymar earlier in the season, it’s highly likely that the 24-year-old would have had even less time to show off his skills. He’s a highly talented midfielder with a lot to offer, but his career has stalled somewhat since jetting off to the French capital.

At PSG, Draxler is a bit-part player. At another team, he could be a leading man. Of course, there’s still time for the German to save his Parisian career, and perhaps the suggested arrival of fellow countryman Thomas Tuchel in the PSG dugout could help to bring the former Wolfsburg man’s career back to life. If not, he might be better off looking for more regular football elsewhere.
