10 Former Aston Villa Players They Could Do With Now

6. Peter Crouch

In 43 games, Peter Crouch scored six times for Aston Villa. It€™s no wonder the club lost patience after three seasons and flogged the 23 year old to Southampton for £2.5 million in July 2004. Little did they realise that the 6ft 7in target man would go on to play in a Champions League final, amass nearly 600 club appearances and score 22 goals for his country. He has always been something of a journeyman, having switched clubs twelve times during his career and his longest stint at any one club has been the three and a half seasons he has so far spent at the Britannia Stadium. At 33 years old, he still has plenty to offer and is one of the team€™s most important players. With Villa toiling for goals up front, having gone over a month without scoring already this season, they could do with the man who will always be a threat when crosses are pumped into the box.
