10 Former Aston Villa Players They Could Do With Now
6. Peter Crouch
In 43 games, Peter Crouch scored six times for Aston Villa. Its no wonder the club lost patience after three seasons and flogged the 23 year old to Southampton for £2.5 million in July 2004. Little did they realise that the 6ft 7in target man would go on to play in a Champions League final, amass nearly 600 club appearances and score 22 goals for his country. He has always been something of a journeyman, having switched clubs twelve times during his career and his longest stint at any one club has been the three and a half seasons he has so far spent at the Britannia Stadium. At 33 years old, he still has plenty to offer and is one of the teams most important players. With Villa toiling for goals up front, having gone over a month without scoring already this season, they could do with the man who will always be a threat when crosses are pumped into the box.
