Tottenham Hotspur are really struggling for goals this season. In eleven Premier League games, they've scored just fourteen times. To put that in to perspective, it's the same number of goals that Crystal Palace have scored and only one more than the likes of Hull City, Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion have scored - all teams who Spurs should really be comfortably beating on all fronts. Moreover, when you compare Spurs' tally to those of the top three, it looks even direr. Top-of-the-table Chelsea have scored 28 times - more than twice that of Spurs - while second placed Southampton have scored 23 and third placed Manchester City have scored 22. In fact, Spurs have struggled for goals since the departure of Gareth Bale. They weren't exactly firing on all cylinders when he was there, but his goals meant that the Lilywhites scored 66 in his final Premier League season and that went down to 55 in the last campaign. Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor just aren't performing when it comes to getting their names on the score sheet and Harry Kane - who is at least putting goals away in other competitions - hasn't really had a long enough run of games in the Premier League to make his mark. As a result, the club are being linked with a number of forward players in the upcoming January transfer window (no change there, then), but wouldn't it be good if Spurs could call upon some of their strikers from seasons past?
