Wages would undoubtedly be the sticking point should Newcastle go for Richards. There's no doubting that he's good enough and could finally realise the potential his early career suggested he could reach. The idea of Micah being one of our first choice centre backs next season is quite frankly mouthwatering. Let's face it, he's too big to be a full back, so giving him a prolonged run at the heart of a Premier League defence could be the making of him. Mike Ashley could also see him as one of those 'two positions for the price of one' players which could swing any deal in The Magpies' favour. Let's hope Mike Ashley is willing to spend £60,000 + to get him to St James' Park.
