Since August 2008, money was flowing like oily water through the blue streets of Manchester. Sheikh Mansour had heavily backed investment into Manchester City, which propelled the club to the top of football's rich list. However, money didn't bring City the success they yearned for until the arrival of "Kun" Agüero in 2011.

Sergio Agüero had set La Liga alight in the 2010-11 season, scoring an impressive 20 goals in 32 league outings for Atlético Madrid. His efforts hadn't gone unnoticed and in the summer of 2011, Manchester City completed a £38 million deal to sign the Argentinian striker. In retrospect, this would prove to be a bargain of a deal.

Agüero hit the ground running in England, notching up 23 league goals. But one goal stood out above all the others. At the climax of the 2011-12 season, Manchester City needed a win in their final game to clinch their first major trophy in 33 years. And in added time, with practically the last kick of the game, Agüero scored the history-making goal. It was one of "those" moments in football, a defining few seconds that changed everything for Manchester City, and Agüero was immortalised forever in City folklore.
