Sergei Rebrov joined Spurs in the year 2000 from Dynamo Kiev, where he had formed one half of the formidable and famous Dynamo strike partnership alongside Andrei Shevchenko, who had left the previous year to join AC Milan in Italy. The pair were considered to be one of the best in Europe and Rebrov had scored 86 times in 157 league appearances for the club. At Spurs, he played 59 Premier League games, 37 of which were starts, but he only managed to score ten league goals. His time at the club saw him go from one of Europe's top strikers to be being unwanted and he was twice shipped out on loan to Turkish side Fenerbahce and he would eventually sign for Spurs Premier League rivals West Ham United, for free, in 2004. His downfall was certainly one of the most emphatic of anyone in a Spurs shirt and it was pretty much destined from the day he arrived.
