Looking for all the world like someone people wouldn't want to mess with in a Glasgow pub, Iain Ferguson (no relation to Barry) was Rangers through and through. It wasn't uncommon to see the man snarling at opponents, or gritting his teeth whenever he lunged in for a meaty challenge. Truthfully, Ferguson would be sent off more often than not nowadays. Wiry and uncompromising, he was also an under-rated talent with the ball at his feet. Iain had better distribution and shooting ability than fans give him credit for, but that would never really lead to many appearances for the Scottish national team. Even so, he was loved at Rangers, and played a crucial part in the wildly successful '9 In A Row' years. Most memorably, Ferguson barked at Paulo Di Canio during an 'Old Firm' match in the mid-1990's. When it appeared that a fight was about to break out between the pair, the Italian suddenly had a change of heart. Di Canio was all bluff, but Iain Ferguson was a genuine hard man. There was no way he was going to stand for any of the Celtic player's histrionics.
