10 Heaviest NFL Players Of All Time

3. Nate Newton - 400lbs (28st 8lbs)

Reports suggest that Nate Newton tipped the 400lb mark during his 12-year spell with the Dallas Cowboys. He was undrafted and signed for the Redskins, before being cut and involved in a serious car accident on the same day, before his journey with the Cowboys began. Three-time Super Bowl Champion Newton was called up for six Pro-Bowl appearances during his prime, before featuring for the Panthers at the end of his glittering career. Life after football was rough for Newton, having being found with his literal weight in marijuana across two police checks on his vehicle. After serving 30 months in jail, Newton was released and claims to have turned his life around, shedding 175lbs in the process thanks to a 'vertical gastrectomy'.
