10 Highest Paid Fighters At UFC 178

4. Eddie Alvarez

Eddie Alvarez had been trying to get to the UFC for years. He was Bellator's reigning champ at lightweight. Well, he finally made it to the UFC after new Bellator CEO Scott Coker granted his release (and his wish) in a move to improve the company's reputation in the MMA world. And like that, Alvarez was in the UFC. Then he lost a three-round decision to Donald Cerrone. It wasn't a bad loss. Alvarez won the first round. Cerrone is a tough fighter to beat and arguably deserves a title shot. For his troubles, Alvarez gets $100,000 in the loss. Not bad at all, and he should bounce back nicely.
