It sometimes take times for new players to settle at a new club - and this is something that Spurs discovered to their detriment last season, with a trophyless campaign and a disappointing sixth place Premier League finish. The signings of Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen, Nacer Chadli, Etienne Capoue and Vlad Chiriches were a sign of intent from Spurs as they sought to minimise the impact of Gareth Bale's departure to Real Madrid. However, only Christian Eriksen truly came out of his first season as a success, as the six other new arrivals struggled to adapt to Premier League life. So far this season, Spurs have signed Michel Vorm, Eric Dier and Ben Davies and, while Vorm and Davies both have Premier League experience and Vorm is likely to be on the bench for most of the season, Spurs still shouldn't make too many more signings before the current transfer window closes. While some more strengthening would be welcome, going overboard with new signings could yet again work against Spurs and last season should certainly serve as a warning in that regard.
