10 Keys To Spurs' Potential Success This Season

3. Shore Up The Defence

One of the club's biggest problems last year was that, at times, their defence capitulated. As a result, Spurs suffered a number of embarrassing drubbings at the hands of the Premier League's better sides - and that's something they absolutely must improve upon if they want to start competing with those teams. Granted, injuries were prominent last season, as Kyle Walker, Danny Roser, Younes Kaboul and Jan Vertonghen all found themselves on the sidelines for prolonged periods, but strength in depth would have helped matters. Thankfully, Mauricio Pochettino is looking at addressing those issues, with Ben Davies and Eric Dier having already signed, Michael Dawson seemingly on the way out and other players who are viewed as defensive upgrades, such as Federico Fazio, set to sign for the club.
