3. Rafael dos Anjos Shocked Us All - But He Won't Get A Title Shot Yet
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81T-h_Bnp_w No one expected Rafael dos Anjos to knock Benson Henderson out last night. Most didn't even expect him to win. So the fact that he earned a first round KO victory is beyond shocking. Don't, however, expect dos Anjos to get the next title shot. He won't. In a division stacked with names, Pettis vs. dos Anjos or Melendez vs. dos Anjos just isn't the biggest selling fight out there - not by a long shot. And remember - as much as MMA is a sport, the fight promotion that is the UFC still relies on spectacle to sell fights. Beyond that, dos Anjos has won just two fights since an April loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov - so he's at least a fight or two away from a title bout, and still behind Nurmagomedov, once he's back from injury. The good news is the dos Anjos now has another huge name on his record (his previous biggest victory as far as name goes was over Cowboy Cerrone), and the UFC seems to be pushing him hard, giving him three fights since April, something few fighters are granted even when they're healthy and want it.
