10 Liverpool Players Who Fell Out With The Manager

10. Daniel Agger

Daniel Agger was a stalwart at Anfield for eight and a half years, but for one reason or another, he and Brendan Rodgers just did not click. The 29 year old has since admitted that were it not for the Northern Irish boss, that he would probably still be at Liverpool, and not back at Brondby whom he transferred to for £3 million in August.
''Let me put it this way: me and the manager were perhaps not on the same page for all of last season. For most of last season at least. There was some distance between us and for me that was enough. I didn۪t feel that he appreciated the things I contributed. And when I feel that, then it is time to move on. Maybe where it went wrong between me and him is that I am very direct. I say things as they are, and also expect that people are to me. Maybe it۪s wrong to expect that.۪۪ - Daniel Agger, September 2014.
The Danish centre-half probably has a point, having made only 20 league appearances for the Reds last season, as Rodgers leant towards the partnership of Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho.
''I think Dan gave his reasons for leaving when he left and we wished him well when he went. Out of respect to him, I don۪t really want to say any more on it. We wished him well and he is a Brondby player now - he has moved on.۪۪ - Brendan Rodgers, September 2014.
Has he though, Brendan? He could have fooled us.
