10 Most Disappointing Premier League Players Of 2014/15 (So Far)
8. Ross Barkley
Barkley has been touted as the savior of English football for a while now, but while his equally talented compatriots Raheem Sterling and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have continued to go from strength to strength, the 21-year-old has failed to hit top gear so far this season. By some players' standards he has been quite reasonable, but his inconsistency has to go down as a big reason for Everton's terrible season to date. The attacking midfielder has so much natural talent at his disposal it's sickening, but too often he has tried to be too fancy on the ball, losing it in key areas and failing to stamp his authority on games. Of course, there will always be the odd moment of magic from a player that talented, but he needs to start showing more substance to his game. Perhaps the youngster is starting to grow disillusioned with life at Goodison Park and wants a fresh challenge - he has the look of a future Manchester United player about him - but either way he needs to buck his ideas up and start showing more maturity. One goal in 17 appearances is not good enough.
