10 Most Jaw-Dropping UFC Knockouts No One Saw Coming

5. Cheick Kongo vs Pat Barry

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3EyJcEBtQM This entry to our list proves that it's not all about defeating the odds or landing a highlight reel finish, sometimes, pure grit and determination prevails above all. If there is one thing fight fans know as a universal truth, it's certainly that the bigger the guy, the harder he hits and the UFC's heavyweight division plays home to some of the baddest men on the planet, and they certainly don't make many more frightening than the French veteran Cheick Kongo. His opponent at UFC on Versus 4 was kickboxing champion Pat Barry, who posted a modest MMA record of 6-2 at the time, and considering Barry's habit of ending proceedings early, this one promised to be a war of the ages, and it delivered in more ways than one. Barry dropped Kongo twice in the first round and had the commentators screaming for referee Dan Miragliotta to end the bout, but to the surprise of each and every spectator inside the Consol Energy Center, Kongo stumbled to his feet with his back against the cage and landed two monstrous right hands out of pure instinct that finished Pat Barry. The spectacular knockout was regarded as the 2011 Comeback of the Year at the World MMA Awards.
