6. Chad Reed
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1vs8mSmN4I Australian Chad Reed had a good start to his career in GPs, before going on to become one of the most successful riders in AMA history. Reed began to make a name for himself in Australia, winning the 250cc Australian Supercross Championship in 1999 and 2000, at just 17 and 18. In 2001 Reed contested the 250cc World Championship aboard a Jan de Groot Kawasaki. He finished second overall in the series, behind multiple World Champion Mikael Pichon. He won the GP of Leirop that year, becoming the first Aussie to win a 250cc GP race. He made the move to America for the 2002 season. He would win the 125cc East title, and place third in the Motocross Championship, behind James Stewart and Brandon Jesseman. It would be Supercross that Reed would excel in, with Supercross Championship finishes of second, first, second, third, second, first and second from 2003-2009, in what could be argued as one of the most competitive eras in Supercross history, with competition from Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart and Kevin Windham. However, Reed would also have success outdoors. He won the 2009 450cc Motocross Championship after a two year break from the outdoors. He would grab race wins and fight for championships in the following years, in which Reed rode for a team he had set up, Two Two motorsports. Reed remains competitive as one of the veterans of the sport, fighting for race wins. He shocked fans the world over by winning two rounds of the 2014 Supercross series, at two of the three Anaheim stops. They are his last victories to date.
