10 Most Unfortunate MMA Injuries Of 2014

7. Stefan Struve Suffers Anxiety/Fainting Spell Prior To UFC 175

UFC 175 was to be heavyweight Stefan Struve's big comeback. After sitting out over a year with heart problems that could potentially have led to his retirement, he was due to walk out to the octagon and made it all the way to fight night before suffering what has been described as a fainting spell in some circles. Many looked to his existing heart problems, or suggested it was anxiety, but Struve would later point the finger at medication he was on, and doctor's changed him to a new drug which seems to have resolved the issue. As a result, Struve would return at UFC on Fox 13 - against a much more intimidating opponent that originally planned. Going from Matt Mitrione to Alistair Overeem looked bad on paper (not that Mitrione isn't a solid fighter, he is), and it was bad come fight night, as Struve was quickly knocked out.
