The Thanksgiving triple header of games is a tradition all Americans savour in. Football and turkey go hand in hand across the pond, and this year, the NFL have seemingly tried to conjure up a strong line-up of games to make up for last years one-sided blow-out victories that didn’t exactly get the taste buds salivating.

The first of the triple header sees those Philadelphia Eagles fly into Detroit to attempt to take down Megatron and his Lions. It has all the chances of being a Thanksgiving classic between these two NFC heavyweights who both have many questions hanging over their heads regarding their post-season credentials. Second up sees Cam Newton and his Carolina Panthers taking on Tony Romo and his Dallas Cowboys in what should shape up to be a physical match up. But the headline slot belongs to one helluva rivalry.

Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers take on divisional rivals Chicago Bears, which will likely see football as warm-up act. These two, in particular the Bears, will go straight for the jugular. Green Bay will be one of this years favourites to hoist the Lombardi trophy come February, however, new Bears coach John Fox won’t have to give his team too much in the way of a motivational speech, a la Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday. Beating Green Bay should already be in Chicago players DNA. Fox will have a tough first season thats for sure. Making Chicago a competitive team again won’t be easy, but taking down their fiercest rivals and putting a big speed bump in their road to a possible Super Bowl 50 appearance should be enough motivation. Of note, NFL legend Brett Favre is expected to have his Green Bay jersey retired during half-time, adding another party spoiling incentive for the Bears.

Martin Scorsese fanboy; Can prove in 140-characters why Michael Bay is a hack, and I enjoy a bit of Gridiron at the weekends.
