10 NFL Players Who Are Having Surprisingly Great Seasons

4. Dak Prescott

Like Carson Wentz before him, you knew he had to be on this list. He’s been the surprise story of the NFL and all anyone could talk about since the preseason. He’s the 4th round pick that everyone missed, including Dallas who apparently had four Quarterbacks they liked more than him going into the draft, according to an October article by Dan Pompei of Bleacherreport.com. Who were those Quarterbacks?

One was his now-rival in the NFC East Carson Wentz and three others who aren’t yet starters in the NFL in Jared Goff, Paxton Lynch and Connor Cook.

He currently sits at 2nd in ESPN’s Total QBR with an 83.8 grade but taking a close look at his stats show that this offense isn’t running through him. He’s 18th in passing yards per game with 253 yards while his running back and Dallas’ number 4 overall pick this year, Ezekiel Elliot, is leading the league in rushing yards per game with 111 yards.

Before everyone starts killing me in the comments and on twitter, which of course is @StopskyandG #shamelessplug, I don’t mean to devalue or dismiss his incredible rookie season. However, maybe we should all take it easy when some people are saying that Prescott should be up for the MVP this year.
