10 NHL Teams To Watch This Season
8. Dallas Stars
Three seasons ago, physically dominant Stars captain Jamie Benn stole the Art Ross trophy as scoring leader on the last day of the season. A year later, Dallas won the Central division with a tremendous offense, and advanced to the second round of the playoffs. It was fair, then, to expect a lot from the Stars last season.
However, a combination of injuries and the play of their notoriously inconsistent goaltending duo plagued Dallas throughout the year, resulting in a disappointing 16/17 season in which they missed the playoffs entirely. This summer, the Stars made a big move to right one of their biggest wrongs in acquiring the gigantic Ben Bishop, a multiple Vezina finalist who seems like he'll immediately plug the holes of their leaky netminding.
Adding Bishop, Russian star Alexander Radulov fresh from a widely praised NHL comeback season with Montreal, as well as Martin Hanzal and Marc Method makes the Stars’ intentions clear: to use their new weapons in tandem with the lucrative talents of Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin to win back the Central division title and beyond.
