Matt Mitrione is slowly becoming a second-tier gatekeeper in the UFC heavyweight division. If Roy Nelson is the primary gatekeeper (get past Nelson and you're a top 5 guy), then Mitrione is the guy you beat to make it to the top 15 or so. Mitrione is coming off a win over Derrick Lewis, and has won two in a row. Jared Rosholt is undefeated in the UFC but is yet to break into the rankings. He does have a dance partner currently, being paired up with submission fighter Oleksiy Oliynyk for a bout later this fall, but after that, Mitrione would be a great test of where Rosholt really is in his development, just like he was for Lewis. Rosholt won't just walk in and trade with "Meathead" either - this will be a classic striker vs. wrestler bout. Again, early 2015 could make sense here.
