While the majority of the Newcastle United squad are off sunning themselves on sandy beaches during the Premier League off-season, some of the continent's finest young talent are currently strutting their stuff at the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in the Czech Republic. Gareth Southgate has taken his England squad to Eastern Europe in a bid to win the tournament for the first time in more than 25 years - but they will face stiff competition from Denmark, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Sweden and the Czech hosts for the title. It is no secret that the Magpies are looking to bring in at least six senior signings this summer - with new head coach Steve McClaren targeting two forwards, a centre-back, a midfielder, a full-back and a winger to bolster his squad.
