4. Julio Arca
Mike Egerton/EMPICS SportJulio is one of the few players on this list who fans still wish all the best. Though his recent visit to the city suggested how much he still loved this club, which is why I couldnt help wondering if there are a few regrets in there deep down about moving on? An undisputed club favourite, who did stay through thick and thin. But a second relegation on a record low points tally was finally enough to convince Arca to leave for pastures new, if not that far away Middlesbrough. Like at Sunderland, Arca became a favourite and adapted to a new central midfield role which allowed him to keep his starting place in the side as Stewart Downing went from strength to strength. Still though, there didnt appear to be quite the old spark there once had been while in a Sunderland shirt. Also, the timing of his move meant he missed out on the exciting new era under Roy Keane.
