Talk about selling a player just before his peak; Real's decision to sell Wesley Sneijder to Inter Milan proved to be a highly unwise one, especially for the relatively cheap price of 15,000,000. The diminutive Dutchman had done very little to justify a transfer, enjoying an impressive two years despite suffering a cruciate ligament injury midway. Arriving at Inter for the 2009/10 season, Sneijder immediately showed Real what they were missing by helping his new side to an amazing treble of League, Cup, and Champions League. He completed an incredible year by helping the Netherlands to the World Cup final in South Africa, scoring five goals (including his first ever header).
