Just like Kleberson before him, Brazilian midfielder Anderson is widely believed to be one of the worst players ever to play for Manchester United. Unlike his predecessor, Anderson was well known in Europe thanks to his time at Porto but he never managed to perform to any similar standard at United as he had in the Portuguese League.

Youtube videos were passed around pubs, playgrounds and anywhere else people would pay attention when United were linked with Anderson. He had garnered fame for his supposed mastery of the 'Hocus-Pocus' manoeuvre and his antics drew the attention of Sir Alex amidst whispers that he could be the "next Ronaldinho."

But then the midfielder rocked up at Carrington alongside Carlos Tevez in a very busy transfer window for Manchester United, as the club pre-empted the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Mail suggest the fee was close to £26 million pounds and every single penny was wasted as Anderson looked clueless in possession, always seemed to be one step behind play and showed slightly less mobility than the goal posts during his time on the pitch.
