When Robin van Persie left Arsenal, he was believed to be one of the greatest strikers in the world, let alone the Premier League. In his last season at the Emirates the Dutchman performed with incredible style, scoring 37 of the best goals youre ever likely to see. However, when the greater footballing heritage of Manchester United came calling, the exceptional finisher made the move North. Van Persie enjoyed an incredibly good debut for United, playing under Sir Alex for his final season. He scored 26 league goals which proved vital in the Red Devils eventually raising the title, giving their legendary manager a send-off worthy of his unbelievable career. However, with the retirement of Ferguson and the resulting loss of United's form, van Persie suffered a dip in form. Recurring injuries and the lack of consistent game-time meant that the striker lost the incredible form which had seen him have such career-defining seasons in the preceding two years.
