When it became clear that the Uruguayan was looking to leave Anfield, Arsenal were quick to swoop with a now infamous £40 million + £1 offer, believing this would trigger his buyout clause.

However, after Wenger claimed he was wrongly advised on the clause, the Gunners missed out on the prolific goalscorer as he signed a new contract under the assumptions he would be allowed to leave the following year.

That he did, packing his bags for the sunnier climate of Barcelona. The move received the seal of approval from Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, who stated the forward was 'too good to move to Arsenal'.

Suarez his since gone on to form a formidable front line alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi, with the 30-year-old bagging 85 goals in 97 appearances in his time at the Catalan giants.
