10 Players You Forgot Played For Real Madrid

8. Hamit Altintop

The Turkish legend came to Real Madrid in 2011 with a huge reputation after successful spells in Germany with Schalke and Bayern Munich.

His experience and big-game pedigree was supposed to be an asset for Los Blancos, but like many players before him, struggled to force his way in the XI and replicate his heroics.

Altintop featured only five times in La Liga in the title-winning campaign of 2011/12, but did manage to score once. However, frustrated at the lack of opportunities, he relocated to his country to join Galatasaray later that summer.

The midfielder, now 37, announced his retirement last year after two decent seasons with German side Darmstadt 98.
